Importing Samples
In Chapter 1 we explored how to create simple waveforms in
Cool Edit. Now it's time to bring these samples into Vienna and use them to
create some analog sounds. For this we move into the Tree Window, where
importing
samples is easy:
Right-Click on User Sample Pool in the Sample
Section, and select Import User Sample(s)... (Figure 3.1).

Use the familiar Windows load file screen to navigate
to the directory where you stored the samples generated in Chapter 1, and select
the sawtooth waveform - sawtooth-A4.wav (Figure 3.2). Click on the Import
button.

That's it! Vienna has imported your waveform, as shown
in Figure 3.3.

Import each of your other waveforms in the same
manner. Note that you can import multiple waveforms together by making use
of the standard Windows multiple-select option - Shift-Left-Click. or Ctrl-Left-Click, as
shown in Figure 3.4.

What we end up with is a Tree View as shown in Figure
3.5, where we have imported 4 waveforms.

Importing samples is a simple as that! At this stage we almost
have our oscillators set up and ready to go. We just need to loop them
correctly, and then get down to the business of editing.
